"The Cherub Plays" is an 11x14" giclee print of a past abstract oil painting on vintage hymns. The canvas has thick 1.5" sides so no need to frame. The sides are a gallery wrap of the continuing mirrored image. White gilded fluffy clouds and navy impasto lines fill the painting with hints of gold leaf and pinks, blues, and greens.
The canvas looks like it has a shadowbox inside, a trompe l'oeil, displaying a beautiful italian cherub holding a drum with an ornate and gilded sculpture of a bow and other angels holding him up.
Some hymns that are throughout the background include:
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing I Am Coming Home
The canvas has a wire for easy hanging and is signed by the artist, Dorothy Collier.
